A LITTLE BIT ABOUT OUR
WELDING BLANKETS
Designed with fire-retardant film and heat resistant material, our blankets can be used for both light and heavy-duty jobs.
What We Do
Welding Blankets
Our blankets are specially designed to protect equipment and the welder while welding from sparks, molten metal, and slag. SUM Ltd’s blankets are compact, portable, and easily stored.
Designed with fire-retardant film and heat resistant material, our blankets can be used for both light and heavy-duty welding jobs. They can resist temperatures of up to 1000°F (538°C). When it contacts molten metal during the welding process, our blankets protect the surrounding area while maintaining its structural integrity.
Welding insulation blankets are an essential safety tool in any welding environment. They are used to protect people and objects from the sparks, spatter, and heat generated during welding. They are made from durable materials that can withstand high temperatures and are designed to be used in a variety of applications.
How do Welding Blankets Work?
They form a barrier between the welding area and the surrounding environment. Made from materials such as fiberglass, silica, or ceramic fiber, they can withstand high temperatures. These blankets are resistant to flames and sparks.
Welding insulation blankets are typically placed around the welding area to protect people and objects from the intense heat and sparks generated during welding. They can also be used to cover objects that cannot be moved, such as machinery or walls, to protect them from damage.
While these blankets are originally made for the purpose of welding, its heat resistant material, in some applications in combination with additional insulation, can act as a shield to protect against other heat-generating activities:
Plasma Cutting
The temperature and number of sparks generated from a plasma cutter torch are typically higher than normal welding; however, SUM Ltd offers special materials for higher temperature applications.
Metal Grinding
Contain sparks within the immediate vicinity and protect surrounding equipment. If you’re working on or within a car, blankets can be used to protect its paint job or seats.
Grill Insulation
Draping a blanket over your grill can insulate your grill during cold winter days, stabilizing the grill’s internal heat temperatures and burning less fuel or pellets.
Asset Protection
Protect your assets from heat and your grill singeing your wooden deck or house’s siding.
When choosing a welding blanket, it’s essential to consider the specific needs of your application. Factors to consider include:
Size: Choose a blanket that is the right size for your welding area.
Temperature Rating: Choose a blanket with a temperature rating that is appropriate for your welding application.
Material: Choose a blanket made from a material that is suitable for your welding application.
Thickness: Choose a blanket with a thickness that is appropriate for your welding application.
Whether you’re using a blanket for commercial or industrial purposes, or if you need to protect your personal assets, SUM Ltd’s welding blankets can be the solution you’re looking for.
